Al Manzil Hotel, Dubai

Submitted by on May 27, 2010 – 4:26 am4 Comments

After the delicious dinner at The Blue Elephant in Dubai, we proceeded to Al Manzil Hotel. I saw Tripadvisor’s reviews about Al Manzil hotel and its ranked # 1 of the 381 hotels in Dubai listed by the travel site.  The rooms are reasonably priced and very affordable if you are looking for a decent place to stay for an overnight in Dubai.  It is just five minute walk to The Dubai Mall & Burj Khalifa and situated in The Old Town district of Burj Khalifa with easy access from Sheikh Zayed Road via Doha Road.

Upon our arrival, we were welcomed with a welcome drink (Guava Juice and not champagne) and after few minutes we were escorted to our individual rooms.  As requested, my room was Burj Khalifa view room (for my photography session) and well furnished with all the extras – tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar, electronic safe, etc.  The hotel has a swimming pool on Level 1, fitness centre, free Wi-Fi access in the room (I love this hotel), sports bar, several other coffee shops, restaurants and shops in the adjoining souk.

After settling in the room, I thought of going out and see at least the surrounding of the hotel.  With my DSLR and a wide angle lens attached, though it was very late I went out and took some snaps which you will see at the bottom of this article.  Coming back from a stroll, I was craving for something cold and so I went to the coffee shop and ordered a melon shake and thought of getting a cheese cake (but backed out) I was greeted by a South African girl with a friendly smile and a good service.

If you like a hotel in the Middle East with a traditional Arabic Architecture, I would recommend this hotel as an excellent four star boutique hotel for singles (like me), couples and business travelers.  I wonder why Al Manzil hotel was categorized as four star when it can easily pass category five, well as far as I am concerned it is five.

I can’t comment about breakfast since we have not tried it, we checked out about 6AM to catch our flight to Bangkok.

One night for a Burj View Room with a King size bed cost about AED 534.75 ($US149.00) and that includes 10% service charge per stay and 10% of city/tourist tax.

Here are some of the photos I took while staying at Al Manzil Hotel
