Because I am a Filipino……

Submitted by on October 7, 2009 – 3:53 am3 Comments

Yesterday, I was checking in to board a flight to Bangkok via Cebu Pacific at the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in Clark Air Base in Angeles City, Philippines when an American started asking me questions about Pattaya, Thailand.  And when I told him what I know about Pattaya, he asked me why I speak very good english.  My answer was “because I am a Filipino.”  Then he started asking me questions like, what I do for living, am I a call center agent (probably because of my english accent hahaha), but never told him what I do and where I work.  He just assumed that I work for C.I.A. after replying to him that my work is a secret…. What funny was he asked me in Tagalog (Philippines national language) and I replied in English just for respect to another Caucasian guy who was listening to our conversation.

I may sound very patriotic but of all the asian countries or any other countries, The Filipinos have capabilities to learn languages quickly and how to pronounce it correctly. Don’t you agree???

The guy who was listening have spent 17 days in the Philippines said that Thailand has a lot more to offer than Philippines.  I beg to disagree, he should stay more often to see the whole Philippines.  We have 7,107 islands if its high tide and add another one if its low tide.  We have spanish history and structures, we have best beaches in the world and not to mention bitches that is Thailand’s best tourists attraction.  Don’t get me wrong, I like and love Thailand, the food, the people, the beaches, the sceneries but I love my country more…. I guess the patriotic side of me is talking….

For the one week I stayed in the Philippines I already started roaming around, In the next couple of weeks I will be posting articles about the Philippines and will start with the place in Capas, Tarlac when we were searching for a farm lot.  The article will be called, The Death March…….
