Fort Worth Stockyards

Submitted by on April 18, 2010 – 3:46 am2 Comments

It was two days after Christmas in 2009 and a day before we leave Dallas for Thailand when my friend took me the famous Stockyards in Fort Worth, Texas.  Prior to that visit to Stockyards, we had our delicious late lunch at Zeke’s Fish & Chips (click here to read the article).

The Fort Worth Stockyards is a National Historic District located in Fort Worth, Texas north of the central business district. The stockyards are a former livestock market which operated under various owners from 1866 and has many bars and nightclubs like Billy Bob’s Texas.

The Fort Worth Stockyards are the last standing stockyards in the United States. Some Fort Worth volunteers still run the cattle drives today. They do it so that people can see what it was like in the 1800s.

I have a couple of photos that I would to share you and to understand what I am talking about.
