I’ve been to two of the ten tallest building in the world
Currently Burj Khalifa tops the list of top 10 tallest building in the world and it’s followed by Taipei 101 of Taiwan. For the past two years of traveling, I have only seen two or let me say three of these buildings. One is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, UAE two months ago and in 2008 were The Petronas Towers from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with a towering height of 1.483 feet each.

Every year there are new skyscrapers much taller than what we have now in our list below, like the Chicago Spire in Chicago, Illinois with an estimated completion date of 2012 and has a height of 2,000 feet. Upon completion, Chicago Spire will replace Taipei 101 of Taiwan on the second spot.

Although some don’t have towering heights like the Burj Khaleefa but have very distinct designs like the much awaited Dubai Towers that replicates the wavering flames of a candle, in this case four candles. These towers rise 400, 330, 310 and 240 meters above the ground level. They twist, turn, wave, taper and do every imaginable thing to stay true to their inspiration. The estimated completion of Dubai Towers is in the middle of 2011.
Now, the question is. Will Dubai rise again after it was affected by US recession? Based on what I have seen the last time I was in Dubai this past April, the airport was empty. And that will be next blog entry.
