Vacation on rainy days

Submitted by on October 31, 2007 – 6:12 am2 Comments

rainy-09.JPGI never thought that having a vacation during rainy season would be so relaxing and fun.  For the past 13 years that I’ve been working abroad and had my vacations, it’s always been during summer in The Philippines. And you know why during summer, because there are picnics at the beach, going to a swimming pool resort, malls, bar hopping – meaning lots of fun. But the most important fun is to be with the family, and no earthly things can beat that!

But that changed last August 2007 when I went to Philippines unexpectedly because my flight to Houston, Texas was cancelled without me knowing it and just found out when I was checking in with KLM Arirlines at the Kuwait Airport. I guess that’s another story and next time I will post about my trip to Houston and will post some pictures as well.Maybe you’ll ask what kind of fun I’ve done during my one week vacation in
The Philippines Well, first and foremost I ate a lot of Pinoy Food such as Tuyo (Fried dried fish) and sinangag na kanin (Fried Rice) with matching vinegar with Bagoong (Shrimp Paste) sauce. Who can beat that? Kentucky Fried Chicken, Mc Donalds and Jollibbee can’t beat that. I wonder if Jollibbee offers Tuyo now. Hmmm…. (I’m thingking!)
And not to mention Inihaw na Tahong (Mussels), luckily there’s no red tide in Philippines. And who can forget the Lechon Baboy (Roasted Pork) with its crispy skin…. Why am I talking about this stuff? It just makes me hungry! (Batukan ang sarili!) Aside from Pinoy Food, it was fun taking pictures while it’s raining.

Here are some of my shots and hope that you reminisce the time that you were in The Philippines during rainy season and share it here in my blog.
